Members of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Michigan
volunteered with the Housing Development Alliance and the Appalachia Service
Project in Chavies. The group worked on two new homes close to the airport in
Perry County, framing and drying in the houses.

About thirty community members joined us for the
opening of Guyla's Grace. The honoree of the new barrier-free rental home, Guyla
Burhans, flew from Modesto, California to join us for the ceremony. Other
attendees included representatives from Kentucky Housing Corporation, the City
of Hazard, First Presbyterian Church, YouthBuild Hazard, and YouthBuild USA. We
are thankful to the YouthBuild participants for working hard to make this a
beautiful home for a family in need. Thank you to all who attended and to our Board and
staff members for providing a delicious lunch!
