High Street Housing is a 10-unit single room occupancy apartment building that provides permanent affordable rental housing to formerly homeless people who have successfully participated in homeless services. Guyla's Grace is a barrier-free, fully ADA compliant rental home, constructed in partnership with YouthBuild designed for a low-income family with a member who uses a wheelchair or has other mobility impairment. The third rental property is a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom house located in Perry County. Check rental availability. |

We are pleased to welcome the Napier Family as the first residents of Guyla’s Grace, a barrier free rental unit constructed to help low-income families with accessibility needs. Named in honor of Guyla Burhans, a former Hazard resident and long-time community volunteer, Guyla’s Grace features a step-less entry, carport, accessible kitchen design, roll-in shower, bathtub with a transfer seat, and wide hallways.
The Napier Family moved in to the house just in time for Christmas in 2005, after living in government housing for twenty-two years. After taking in their disabled grandson, Tyler, they knew they would have to make a drastic change. “Living here has been so good for Tyler,” Linda Napier attests. With Guyla’s Grace, we look forward to serving the accessible housing needs of local low-income families for years to come |
